This micro e-qualification offers an ideal opportunity for educators, whether they are school teachers or academics in higher education institutions, to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to apply AI technologies in teaching, assessment, scientific research, and innovation. It employs a Competency-Based Education approach, focusing on building specific competencies in these micro-courses. Enrolled participants/trainees must master these competencies and provide practical evidence demonstrating their ability to successfully apply them, which qualifies them to obtain the certified micro-credential.
Micro-course 1: Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence in Education
This course aims to introduce participants to fundamental concepts such as machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning, in addition to explaining the principles of traditional and generative artificial intelligence. Through this unit, participants will learn how to employ AI in designing interactive multimedia used in education, such as digital and interactive learning materials, thereby enhancing the student learning experience.
Micro-course 2: Designing and Developing Educational Content Using AI
This course aims to enable educators to utilize AI applications in designing and developing diverse and effective educational content. Learners will explore how to create educational images, texts, and videos using AI tools, with a focus on producing unique content that meets the needs of different learners. The course also develops the teacher's ability to customize content according to individual differences among learners, providing more adaptive learning experiences for students.
Micro-course 3: Using Artificial Intelligence in Educational Assessment
This course aims to provide a general introductory overview of fundamental concepts in educational assessment, including types of assessment, assessment tools, comprehensive and detailed statistical analysis of assessment tool results, and providing feedback. It explores the uses of artificial intelligence in educational assessment to create learning experiences that align with learners' personalities, formulate educational questions, pose questions and implement interactive formative assessment, as well as the processes of grading and feedback, and analyzing and mining learner assessment data to form comprehensive learner profiles. This course also contributes to gaining practical experience through hands-on application of several AI tools to develop interactive and engaging metrics and tests.
Micro-course 4: Utilizing Artificial Intelligence Academic Research
This course aims to introduce participants to how to use AI tools in literature review and research data analysis. Additionally, this course covers how to write effective research papers and document sources using artificial intelligence, contributing to the development of accurate and comprehensive scientific research.
Micro-course 5: Using Artificial Intelligence in Innovation and Technology Transfer
This course aims to enhance the competencies of educators (academic and teaching staff) in higher education institutions in the fields of innovation and environmental foresight, enabling them to plan, design, and distribute educational innovations using accessible online technology tools. The course also focuses on sustainability practices and linking educational innovations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Micro-course 6: Ethical Considerations for Using Artificial Intelligence in Education
This course aims to enable educators and researchers to deal consciously, ethically, and responsibly with AI technologies in education. This is achieved by analyzing the educational risks associated with their uses, applying international ethical principles (such as UNESCO recommendations), and designing practices and policies that ensure fair, safe, and appropriate use of these technologies in the educational environment and scientific research.
